SWG specializes in and maintains flexibility by providing a full spectrum of ancillary project management services including cost estimating, scheduling development and analysis, facility constructability review and value engineering, claims analysis and project document controls.

SWG is known within the construction industry as the resource for providing accurate and up-to-date construction costs. SWG provides two of the associate editors for the construction industry's publications Current Construction Costs. These resource documents have been the industry guides since the first book was published in 1961. The Sierra West Group also produces the Lee Saylor Index, first established in 1966 and prepared by SWG since 1992. The Index is published quarterly in Engineering News Record (ENR) and is used by Engineering News Record (ENR) to calculate and establish quarterly inflation forecasts.
