Woodward Park Regional Library

This project entailed cost estimating services for a part of the largest library system in Fresno, CA. The library is a 22,050 square foot facility on a three acre site. Costs for this project included 132 parking spaces, meeting rooms, appropriate space to hold 75,000 items, a computer lab, clerestory windows, self check-out, security system, a children’s room with separate story room and craft area, a young adult/teen area, laptop ports, conference room (6 person) and study room (2 person) and 2 public entrances served by a single Lobby/Foyer.

Orange Cove Library

Sierra West Group provided cost consulting services to assist with the new construction of the Orange Cove Branch Library. Estimates included all civil, structural, architectural and M/P/E for the approximately 10,072 Sq. Ft. facility.

Suisun Library

Cost estimating services at the conceptual level for the new construction of the 10,000 sq. ft. library and classroom facility. The project was designed using sustainable design principles. The building features overhangs and sunshades on the south, north facing light monitors over the main reading areas, and an energy efficient mechanical system. The library also includes an access floor throughout with under floor ventilation and a flexible technology infrastructure.

Sacramento/North Natomas Library

Sierra West Group provided cost estimating services for the Sacramento North Natomas Library that is expected to open in the fall of 2009. This project consisted of producing cost estimates for approximately 22,645 square feet of new construction to include 120 public-access computer stations; a computer lab and classroom, as well as a mobile, wireless lab with notebook computers; and a 75-seat-capacity community meeting room and a gallery entrance to house community events and display projects for school and community groups, a reading room with defined large vaulted ceilings that will allow natural daylight into the space and 100 stalls of on grade parking. Estimates were also provided to include a distance learning center, study rooms, and interior and exterior meeting areas. This project was designed to meet the LEED Silver criteria.

Milpitas Library

For this project SWG was responsible for providing cost estimating services for the new Milpitas Library in addition to providing costs associated with the renovation of the historic community hall costs included a 320 stall parking structure. The new construction is approximately 60,000 gross square feet and consists of steel construction for the vertical and horizontal wall/roof construction. All new construction was built on grade. The structure was finished with an EFIS system. The Project was LEED certified “Silver”.

Lafayette Library & Learning Center

The project consists of a new Library and Community Hall with basement parking on a new site. The new construction is approximately 65,000 gross square feet and comprises one level of on grade basement parking with second floor excavated into (e) slope with the third floor and community center being on grade. The library/learning center is a three-level structure, built in stone and wood in a contemporary Bay Area Craftsman style, the new Library will be located in the heart of Lafayette and is currently under construction.
